Leilani currently lives near Glasgow, is a serial volunteer-er, is a whole hearted believer of trying to construct your life around what you’re passionate about and serially drops everything that no longer interests her.
She’s made her career so far working in University Students’ Unions facilitating student politics and democracy. She is very interested in collecting ideas relating to grassroot initatives and community centred solutions to social issues.
She has previously written a couple of articles published by Slaney Street a Birmingham based news co-operative and unfortunately doesn’t currently blog nearly as often as she’d like to – she’s working on it.
The blog title is a reference to the Castro District of San Francisco which was one of the first LGBT neighbourhoods in the US and was the home of Harvey Milk (May 22, 1930 – November 27, 1978) who became the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California.
